Homework

Monday: Every other Monday students will have spelling words to write into sentences. Please have your child write one word for each sentence and underline the spelling word in each sentence. These are due Tuesday.

Every other Monday students will have a read aloud to complete. The read aloud involves an adult listening to the student read the passage out loud. Each week there will be questions or some project to complete with the read aloud. These are due on Friday.

Thursday: For the weeks that there are spelling words, there will be some sort of review sent home Thursday night. This review is due Friday. All Spelling tests will be Friday.

Nightly: Students will most likely have math homework nightly (depending on their math teacher). Please see your child’s homework sheet.

Monthly: (October to March) Our class will participate in the Pizza Hut reading program called Book It. My goal for each month is to have students read for three hundred minutes. I will send home a calendar for students to keep track of their minutes. Whenever they turn it in, at the end of each month, they will receive a coupon for a free personal pizza! For any students reaching the goal for every month, I am offering a pizza party during lunch, in my room!
