The math curriculum is similar to the other grade levels, except we do more algebra and lots of problem solving. The best way to succeed in my class is to do all homework, try everything, pay attention when we go over it in class, and ask questions.
In social studies we study some of the regions of the world, including North America (Canada & Mexico), South and Central America, Middle East and Northern Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, subcontinent of Asia, Asia, and the Far East. Within each unit, we explore the geography, history, economics, and culture of the countries found there. We read, discuss and try to understand how it is important in our world of today. Students who take part in our class discussions and listen to the news and their parents' discussion of current events will find it an interesting class.
