8/25-8/29- Get to know each other, why have rules, positive posters, learning styles, the importance of reading

9/2-9/19- Novel: The Last Book in the Universe. Setting/character murals, context clues and text structures, events changed language, use of dictionaries, thesauruses, Internet, making predictions, comparison/contrast, recall, summaries, inferences, drawing conclusions,

9/22-10/10- Oral communications, speeches, debates, listening skills, how to influence an audience, speaking techniques, purpose, persuasive speaking

10/13/10/24- advertising techniques. Magazines, newspapers, propaganda/persuasive language, commercials/videos

11/17-11/21 Literary devices, music and lyrics, illustrated songs/music videos

11/24-12/19 New novel: Welcome to the Ark , flat, round, dynamic, static characters, author's point of view, pace, action, climax, tone, mood, word choices, syntax, symbolism

01/05-01/15 Reading and writing about literature, writing circles, pre-writing tasks, sentence and paragraph structures, editing and proofreading, rubrics, publication,

DRAMA NEWS

Dear Reggie has been in full rehearsal for the past six weeks. The show will be here before we know it! We hope you come out to support these hard-working young actors in this year's show! Come and join us for some laughs. The price is right and the show is a lot of fun too!
