with...

MRS. LIPPERT

UNITS OF STUDY:

      I.  Motion/Forces & Energy

       II. Genetics & Heredity

       III. Geological Events:

Inside & Outside of the Earth

       IV.  Rocks & Minerals

        V.  Astronomy

Required Materials:  Each student is required to have a notebook ONLY for Science notes and activities.  This notebook is referred to as your "Science Log" where the students are required to take all class notes, to complete all "Challenge of the Day" activities and to complete any assigned book activities or discussion questions.  Science Logs will be collected and graded to be sure that students are taking notes as well as completing any given assignments.

Homework:  (Usually worth 20 points)  Homework that is given, will be expected to be turned in when it is due.  Full credit will only be given to NEAT and COMPLETE homework that is handed in on time.  For homework that is late, the grade will automatically be dropped down to the next letter grade for each day that it is counted late.  REMEMBER. . . that is an automatic drop to the next lower letter grade per day BEFORE the homework is graded for accuracy.

Missing Assignments:  At any time that an assignment is not turned in, (with the exception of an absence from school) the student will be required to sign and date his/her "Missing Assignments" index card.  Once these assignments are completed, the student may cross off this assignment.  If the student "forgets" to turn in two assignments within the same month, the student will then be issued a warning to complete both assignments by the following day.  If this is not done, the student will be assigned a lunch or after school detention to complete both missing assignments. The student will continue lunch or after school detention until these assignments are completed and turned in.
