Dear Fellow Members of the Class of 1946
My!
It does seem awhile since we graduated, doesn't it?
I best remember that all 13 of us boys were at the bottom of the class
of
26, except for Vic, if I remember, and all the girls were at the top. Was
it because our principal, Mr. Lemon thought us boys were quite naughty?
Can't imagine why!! I'm sure he didn't mind some of us disappearing
between STUDY HALL and the LIBRARY to go swimming at our old swimming hole
up Camp
Creek. No, No, it couldn't have been that, at all!
The other thing that sticks in my mind was the LAST PARTY OF OUR SENIOR
YEAR. Turned out to be sort of a "Well, heck, we're finally free, and
spin
the bottle again, Walt" WOW, did he ever!! And he seemed so shy all the
time. I've been here in Bangkok since 1959, and have watched a quiet
little city
grow, just like TOPSY did, into a rather congested megopolis of over 10
million souls. And I do believe there's 20 million cars, buses, scooters,
motercycles, and so forth clogging up the streets. But you know how it is
everywhere, it's the same. I understand G-ville has grown a bit, doubled
in
population, hasn't it? Thailand is quite a magical place, even with the
traffic. You have seen in the news, I guess, the various happenings over
the past few years or so. Quite a study in political and social development.
I would certainly enjoy hearing from my old friends by email, letter,
fax,
phone, or personal visit. We have lots of room here, the food is great,
and we'd love to have you, one and all.
Looking forward to renewing acquaintances with all of you.
With kindest regards and best wishes for your good health and continued
happiness.
Your classmate and friend,
Jack Williams
