The Home Stretch!

Hello GMS Families!

This is Mr. Hatcher with a sunny and warm update!  We are in the home stretch!  The last official day of school is June 4th.   Remember that for the month of May, students had two options from which they could pick.  The first option was to continue earning clocks.  Students who chose this item will need to have completed 23 clocks (earned from May 4 to June 4), and they are due on June 4.  I sent messages to students last week who had earned between 0 and 3 clocks during this time to encourage them to keep working.

The second option was to contact teachers and work on improving their grades in specific classes.   Teachers have set up individual due dates for work in these classes and these activities most likely will be wrapped up this week.  Nearly 40% of the 8th grade and 50% of the 7th grade took advantage of the grade improvement option.   That is a great deal of initiative on the part of the students!

I would especially like to complement our staff for their work during this time.   The staff has been available, been conducting meetings, reaching out to students, and making sure that we stay connected.  I am very proud of their work.

Finally, we will be collecting chromebooks and school textbooks on June 8th.  The drop off times are from 10 am-12 noon and from 5-7 pm.   Please plan on returning all school property that day.   In addition, student belongings from lockers can be picked up that day,

If you have any questions, please call the Middle School office (330) 527-2151, on contact me by email.

Thank you and Go G-Men!
