http://Welcome to the Middle School

The Mission of the James A. Garfield Middle School is to foster a positive learning environment that provides an academic bridge to prepare the middle level child for the unique challenges of the future and sets the foundation for life-long learning.

James A. Garfield Middle School staff, faculty, and administration are committed to serving the seventh and eighth grade students for the 2007-2008 school year.  We hope that each student takes advantage of the many opportunities available at the middle school and that this year becomes a memorable one.

Last year's students demonstrated success in athletics, clubs, and academics.  In addition to individual recognition, our students were well represented on the Ohio Achievement Tests at both the seventh and eighth grade levels.  We scored near the top in all areas tested, compared to other schools in the county.  Even in the one area we did not receive a point on our report card from the state, we were third in the county.  Our faculty and students did great.

Parents have the opportunity to become involved in middle school life by joining the Middle School Volunteer Parents (MVPs).  This organization helps recognize students and supports teachers in academic areas.  Please call the school for contact information.
