The Middle School's theme this year is Pay it Forward, and there are so many instances of this theme seen daily!   One of the greatest examples is our Middle School Volunteer Parents (MVPs).   This dedicated group supports the school AND paying it forward.   So far this year, the MVPs have sponsored a Winter Dance, family outings at Derthick's Corn Maze, the school's participation in the Geography Bee, delicious conference dinners for the staff, the fees for our National Junior Beta Club, and they helped sponsor the visit of Jesse Weinberger, the national expert who came to speak about internet safety.   They will also help provide snacks and drinks for the 8th grade Niagara Falls trip, an evening at Hiram College to reward our students, and they will provide resources when Ohio author, Chelsea Bobulski, visits our school in late April.

The MVPs help staff concession stands at athletic events, sell donuts at football games, and collect pop tabs, old phones, and ink cartridges to recycle.   They are led by David Schaefer, president; Kim Bass, vice-president; Melanie Warren, secretary; and Tina Lawrence, treasurer.  Thank you to all who help and make the MVPs a success!   If you are a parent or soon-to-be parent of a GMS student, you are welcome and encouraged to join the MVPs.  The next MVP meeting is March 18 at 6:30 pm at the Middle School.
