Friday after school we were alerted to a questionable social media post about our high school. We immediately reported it to the authorities to investigate. Based on their investigation the post was immediately found to be unsubstantiated. Since the post may have been seen by others and misunderstood, the police volunteered to be at school for arrival on Monday to alleviate any potential student concern. There are a number of false reports circulating and we felt it important to share the facts and squelch these rumors. Rest assured, all students and buildings at Garfield are safe.

Reminder: Senior Athletes should report to the commons after school for their banner photos.

Transportation Update:
A significantly better day today! We met personally with ANY student who was unsure of which bus to ride and gave them colored reminder cards to help them board the correct bus. We also created customized communication lists and communicated via text with parents on each bus as it left the elementary. Our route times decreased significantly today due to these tweaks.....Kudos to our drivers and elementary staff!
We know that we have one route, bus 2, that is still running late and are working to have a solution by Friday. We will communicate with the impacted parents individually.
Tomorrow is the first day for PreK and Kindergarten riders. Please be patient as we will most likely slow a bit due to pictures being taken and having our youngest G-Men riding for their first time!
Thank you again for your patience as we fine-tune our routes.
Go G-Men!

We will be better. ~Ted Lysiak
