Honoring those who have served our country is one of the traditions we are most proud to celebrate at James A. Garfield Local Schools.
This November, both our Elementary School and Middle/High School will welcome veterans and military families for special Veterans Day celebrations designed to give our students the opportunity to recognize the courage, sacrifice and service of the men and women who have served our nation.
We are also proud that all James A. Garfield schools have earned Ohio’s Purple Star designation, recognizing our commitment to supporting military-connected students and families. The Purple Star designation reflects work that goes beyond a single event — it represents an ongoing commitment to welcoming, supporting and engaging military families throughout our school community.

Wednesday, Nov. 11
Veterans Day Assembly — 9:15 a.m.
Light refreshments will be available afterward for veterans and their special JAG student.
James A. Garfield Middle/High School
Friday, Nov. 13
Veterans Breakfast — 8:15 a.m. in the MS/HS Commons
Veterans Day Assembly — 9 a.m.
The assembly will feature a special guest speaker.
We would also love to recognize the veterans and military members who are special to our JAG families. Families are encouraged to submit a photo for inclusion in our Veterans Day tributes.
