We’re proud to share that James A. Garfield Local Schools earned strong results on this year’s Ohio School Report Card!

District: 4 Stars

High School: 4.5 Stars

Middle School: 4.5 Stars

Elementary School: 4 Stars

One highlight is our Performance Index of 82.8% — our fifth consecutive year of growth. This measure reflects progress from all of our students, and it shows the positive impact of our teachers, support staff, and families working together.

While test scores are only one part of the story, they confirm what we already know: JAG is moving in the right direction. We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for this achievement!

Go G-Men! 🖤💛

📅 We’re just 10 days into the school year, and now is the perfect time to remind everyone: Attendance matters!

Even missing a couple of days each month can add up to weeks of lost learning over the year — and more than a year of school missed by graduation.

When students show up every day, they build stronger routines, keep up with their classmates, and get the full benefit of the great experiences happening at JAG.

Let’s make this a year of showing up, staying engaged, and building success together. 💪

JAG Family, we’re excited to welcome you back for the 2026 school year! To help capture those special first-day moments, we’ve created “First Day of School” signs that are available for students to pose with before heading into class. These signs are a fun and simple way to mark the start of a new year, giving families a keepsake photo to look back on as their students grow. Whether it’s your child’s very first first day or their senior year, we invite everyone to join in the tradition and start the year off with a smile.

You can download your sign at: https://www.jagschools.org/documents/printables/first-day-of-school/847231

Yearbook Update – Class of 2026 📸🎓
All spring sports, the band concert, the spring choir concert, and graduation will be covered in this year’s yearbook — they’ll appear in a free, high-quality printed insert delivered in June for anyone who purchases a book.

The main yearbook will still capture the full senior year in a more efficient layout, allowing us to keep the price affordable and deliver it before graduation. Our student media team is working hard to tell the complete story of the Class of 2026 while keeping it accessible for the entire JAG Family.

Go G-Men! 🖤💛
