This morning, at student arrival, a water leak was identified on the front lawn of Garfield High School. Our maintenance team investigated and confirmed early this afternoon that the issue is a broken water line.
We immediately consulted with the local water department, and we want to assure families that the water has been confirmed safe to drink.
As a precaution and to allow repairs to begin, the Middle School and High School buildings will close at 4:00 p.m. today.
🔹 This issue does NOT impact the Elementary School, and water service there remains unaffected.
🔹 All events at the Middle School and High School for tonight and tomorrow are cancelled.
Repairs will be made over the weekend, and we will continue to share updates as work progresses.
