Class of 2026 - Senior Portrait Information

Dear Class of 2026:

It’s time to plan for your senior photos. You have the option to choose where you have your photographs taken, so talk to your friends and family for recommendations about the photographer who will work best for your family. No matter who you choose, the guidelines for senior photos are as follows.

Senior photos are due to Mr. Coll via email by December 31, 2025.

The Basics

Have your photographer take closer photos of you for the yearbook.

Choose a photo that is relatively "zoomed in".

Yearbook photos are not large, and fine details (like your face) will not reproduce well in a zoomed out "full-body" shot. Have your photographer take a couple "head & shoulders" type shots to use in the yearbook, and on your senior banner. You can always order the more scenic photos for your wall.

Follow the school dress code.

Dress appropriately for your photo session.

As the yearbook is a school publication, the school dress code applies for senior portraits submitted for publication. If you can't wear it to school, don't wear it in your senior portrait. Most photographers will allow you to do a wardrobe change between poses. Plan ahead!

Send the original photo, not a copy off social media.

Submit a high-resolution photo.

Photographs saved from Facebook, Snapchat, and other social media sites will be extremely compressed, and will not print well. Always send the highest resolution/non-compressed file possible. In most cases your photographer will do this for you automatically, but you may need to ask.

Horizontal photos are great for capturing the scenery around you and setting a tone. Unfortunately that will not translate when the photo is cropped for the yearbook. Make sure the photo you submit was taken vertically so minimal edits are required.

Also, please choose a photo where you appear as close to center in the frame as possible.

What is Not Permitted

  • No weapons, firearms, explosives, etc.

  • No tobacco, vape, alcohol, or drug paraphernalia.

  • No writing, watermarks, or signatures on the photograph.

  • No visible political slogans/campaign logos/political apparel.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The photograph should be cropped for a vertical 2x3 aspect ratio. This is standard for digital cameras and smart phones.

  • A minimum size of 8” x 12” @ 240 dpi is requested for photographs (300 dpi is preferred). The photos are also used for 2'x3' graduation banners so the larger the size you can get your photographer to send the better.

  • Accepted formats are JPG or PNG.

  • Photographs must be submitted via email to bcoll@jagschools.org.

    • IMPORTANT: Your email subject line MUST be "2026 Senior Photo - [Your Full Name]". This is how we find and keep track of them in our inbox. Do not make us go on a scavenger hunt.

    • We will not accept printed photos or photos on CD.
