It was an epic afternoon in the GMS gym as the Lab Rats took on the 8th Grade Girls Volleyball Team in a match that had the energy of a national championship and the heart of true G-Men pride. With a packed crowd, booming chants, creative signs, and a sea of black and gold, this year’s Staff vs. Students game was one for the record books!

The Lady G-Men came out strong in Set 1, dominating with confident serves and calm execution. Haley M. lit up the scoreboard with a serving streak that helped the girls take the first set 20–12. The Rats were clearly rattled… but not out.

Set 2 saw a surprising twist, thanks to Thomas C.’s strategic JAGcoin purchase: a modified baseline that shrunk the court just enough to disrupt the Lady G-Men’s service game. The Lab Rats found their rhythm and took full advantage, pulling off a convincing 15–4 win and evening the match.

With one set apiece, it all came down to Set 3. Knox P. and Landyn M. added some spice to the showdown by using their JAGcoins to purchase a pair of Rat Traps from JAG General—cleverly placed for maximum distraction and entertainment. The final set was back-and-forth, full of laughs, lunges, and legendary effort. In true G-Men fashion, the Lab Rats embodied our district core value of Perseverance, edging out the girls in overtime, 20–19.

What made the day unforgettable was everything around the lines as much as the play inside them: terrific sportsmanship between both squads through every high and low; a national-championship-level atmosphere thanks to a packed student section; creative chants and signs that shook the rafters; and the fastest sellout of front-row tickets in Rats history. Huge thanks to our middle school staff for keeping the event running smoothly from warm-ups to the final point. It was a great day to be a G-Man!

Go Rats!
