Go G-Men!

Last week, James A. Garfield Middle School held its first annual “Skate or Treat” event at the Roller Hutt — and what a night it was! Over 60 students hit the rink for an evening packed with skating, pizza, candy, music, costumes, and friendship. The glow of the lights and the beat of the music mixed perfectly with the excitement of students showing off their moves (and, for a few, their graceful falls). Luckily, everyone made it through the night without a single injury — just lots of laughter and good memories.

The rink buzzed with music and laughter as students spun, raced, and glided their way around the floor. From creative costumes to impressive spins, it was clear the G-Men know how to have fun on wheels. The spooky photo booth added another highlight to the evening, capturing memories that will last well beyond the fall season. You can check out all the photos from the event here: Skate or Treat Photo Booth Gallery.

Of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without our JAGcoin Raffles! Students had the chance to spend their well-earned JAGcoins on prize drawings, with Autumn Z. taking home the grand prize — a 32-inch smart TV! Congratulations, Autumn!

A huge thank you goes out to Mrs. Truce, Mr. Nottingham, Mrs. Criblez, Mr. Coll, and the Middle School MVPs for organizing and chaperoning the event. We also extend our gratitude to Linda and Justin from the Roller Hutt for their outstanding hospitality and partnership in making this event possible.

Go G-Men!

The success of this year’s Skate or Treat has already inspired plans to make it a yearly tradition! So if you missed out this time, don’t worry — you’ll have another chance to join the fun next year. In the meantime, consider stopping by the Roller Hutt throughout the year to fine-tune those skating skills and get ready for next fall’s celebration. It was a great time to be a G-Man!
