Go G-Men!

The James A. Garfield Middle School Class of 2030 closed out their 8th grade year with an unforgettable trip to Cedar Point as more than 85 students, staff members, and family chaperones spent the entire day from park open to close enjoying everything the park had to offer.

Go G-Men!

This marked the first-ever 8th grade class trip to Cedar Point for JAG Middle School, and it quickly proved to be a huge hit with both students and staff. Built around the theme “Class of 2030: Next Stop High School,” the trip served as both a celebration of the students’ middle school years and a fun sendoff before summer break and the transition to high school.

Throughout the day, students experienced some of Cedar Point’s biggest roller coasters, enjoyed the Premium All-Day Dining experience, and made lasting memories riding attractions alongside teachers, parents, and classmates. One of the highlights of the trip came during the first-ever “JAG Gemini Takeover,” where every rider on the red Gemini train was a Garfield student—and the G-Men came away victorious.

The Middle School MVP organization also added excitement to the day by raffling off a set of Fast Lane Plus wristbands to one lucky group, allowing them to skip the lines and maximize their coaster experience throughout the park.

Even a brief stretch of rain in the early evening could not slow the group down. Students demonstrated the district core value of perseverance by sticking it out through the weather, which ultimately led to one final reward: nearly empty lines and the chance to enjoy the park almost to themselves during the last hour of the night.

Most importantly, Garfield students represented the school with pride throughout the trip. Their behavior, positive attitudes, and interactions with staff, parents, and park guests reflected the strong culture and core values promoted at JAG Middle School each day.

From thrilling roller coasters to shared laughs and unforgettable memories, the trip was a perfect way to celebrate the end of the 8th grade year. It was truly a great day to be a G-Man, and we are already looking forward to making the Cedar Point trip a new middle school tradition for future classes.
