Attention Middle School Families... We are thrilled to announce our first group of recipients for the prestigious "G-Men of the Month" recognition at Garfield Middle School! Through the G-Men of the Month Program, we celebrate the outstanding achievements and embodiment of our District's Core Values by three remarkable individuals:
Lillian (8): Staff members had mentioned that Lillian consistently demonstrates outstanding effort and dedication in science including scoring over 100% on her first test. They had also noted that she comes prepared each day, actively participates in class discussions, and is always willing to contribute to her team. Beyond academics and sportsmanship, staff members mentioned she is respectful, kind, and a positive presence around our campus.
Other 8th Grade Nominees for the month included: Caden Bosela, Allison Smith, Colbi Nastase, Elijah Lansberry-Forman, Cade Sanchez, and Andrew West
Nova (7): Staff members had mentioned that Nova has had a great start to the school year and comes to class prepared, ready to participate, and consistently puts forth great effort in all she does. They had also said that she is usually the first student to enter the room and that she is intelligent, caring, and a focused student who always tries their best.
Other 7th Grade Nominees for the month included: Dan Boutros, Addy Bard, Lena Hayhurst, Bella Shedlock, and Kendall Swigonski
Mr. Minnick (Staff): Students have said that they appreciate his combined humor and kindness with clear, effective instruction in math. They had also said that he makes their days better with jokes, takes time to help anyone who is struggling, and they appreciate his calm leadership and ability to step up as a voice of reason when it matters most.
Other Staff Nominees for the month included: Mr. Paes, Mr. M. Pfleger, Mrs. Smallwood
The G-Men of the Month recognition is particularly special because it is nominated and voted on by both students and staff, highlighting the unity and support within our school. It serves as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and kindness that are at the heart of our GMS community.
